About

About

Beth Mattson is a mom, poet, novelist, nerd, queer, teacher, and social worker living in the hills outside of La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Beth’s not certain that these personality constructs are precise, accurate, or internally valid, but is an INTP, Gemini sun, Leo moon, and Aquarius rising. This probably just means silly, creative, analytical, and extremely verbal.

We really should talk about anxiety, OCD, PTSD, Ehlers-Danlos, and all other manner of unashamed diagnoses as tools to gather resources.

I really, really tried for alt text with all of these images, and I am completely biffing it with this wordpress theme. Alt text for every pic of Beth Mattson: Scrappy queer nerd looks dorky while doing something lefty, crunchy, and/or quirky. She gets licked in the face by her dog while her ears stick way out in a pokemon hat; she votes; she hugs trees; she sits with the trees in deep snow; she sat on a springtime roof in Sao Paulo to show off; she climbs trees and sticks out her tongue after hitching a trailer to her subaru; she drives a tractor with a snow plow and pets animals like pigs and goats, who, by the way, wag their tails just like dogs; she has awkward hEDS hands while trying to paint; she has awkward hEDS toes on the beach and for picking potatoes; she is annoyingly outdoorsy; she dresses as a welder, Mr. Mattson, for Halloween or any occasion; she looks uncomfortable posing in front of a university entrance that reads “Dick Records Entrance;” her prized possession is a personalized post card from Ursula K LeGuin.
